The Los Angeles BEAT, Miami Padel Club, Las Vegas Smash, and Flowrida GOATS Top the League Standings Heading into Event Three in San Diego
Pro Padel League (PPL), North America’s first and only professional padel league, announced they have selected Taktika Padel located at the award-winning Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California, to host the PPL’s third event of the 2024 season from August 19th-25th. Showcasing exhilarating competition from the world’s best professional padel players, this will be the PPL’s last regular season event of 2024 with all ten teams competing for a spot in the PPL Cup at the end of the year.
Taktika Padel will host the PPL’s final regular season event beginning Monday, August 19th, with round robin matches taking place through Friday, August 23rd. The semifinals will be held Saturday, August 24th, followed by the final on Sunday, August 25th. The competition format will include men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and a mixed doubles match. Tickets will be available for purchase starting the week of July 8th, 2024, and will include general admission, reserved seating, VIP, and week-long passes.

Concluding the final PPL regular season event in San Diego, the top eight teams in the League standings will advance to the PPL Cup being held in November. At the top of the PPL team standings are the Los Angeles BEAT (ranked no. 1) and the Miami Padel Club (ranked no. 2) who each captured a regular season event title in Miami earlier this year in April. Following close behind them are the Las Vegas Smash (ranked no. 3) and the Flowrida GOATS (ranked no. 4) who were both finalists in Miami along with the Arkansas Matrix, New York Atlantics, and Toronto Polar Bears who captured third and fourth place finishes. Those teams looking to make a strong comeback in San Diego in August and secure a spot in the PPL Cup include the hometown team and hosts, the San Diego Stingrays, the Cancun Waves, and the Houston Volts.

Showcasing the game’s best padel players and powerhouses from around the world, over 60% of the players in the PPL are ranked top 50 in the world. These include Ariana Sanchez (world no. 1, Miami Padel Club) Pablo Lima (former no. 1, Flowrida Goats), Juan Martín Díaz (no. 1 for 14 years, New York Atlantics), Fede Chingotto (no. 8, New York Atlantics), Miguel Lamperti (former no. 2, San Diego Stingrays), and Marta Ortega (former no. 1, current no. 6, Las Vegas Smash).
Previously hosting the PPL’s 2023 All-Star Game, the Barnes Tennis Center is a national award-winning facility hosting other major tennis events like the San Diego Open WTA 500 and ATP 250, along with hosting numerous padel and pickleball tournaments annually.
