NEW YORK, NY, February 10, 2026
The Pro Padel League (PPL), the world’s top professional padel league with 10 teams across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, today announced the launch of PPL II, a new player development initiative designed to identify, support, and elevate the next generation of PPL players for North America–based talent.
Set to debut in March, the new league will feature 10 pairings, four regular season events across North America, guaranteed compensation and prize money totaling more than $350,000, and the opportunity for the top PPL II teams to compete in the PPL’s championship event, The City’s Cup, taking place December 3-6 in Miami.
Draft registration for all potential PPL II players is now open through February 18 at ProPadelLeague2.komo.site.
The first serve of the PPL II inaugural season will be March 15–18 in Miami.
“The launch of PPL II is a natural evolution in our commitment to growing padel and developing athletes in North America,” said PPL CEO Mike Dorfman. “By offering the structure, training, competitions, and support for the next generation of professional players, we are creating a clear pathway for athletes to reach their full potential and compete at the highest level of professional padel in the world.”
In 2026, PPL II’s 10 teams will consist of five men’s pairings and five women’s pairings, with each of the PPL Clubs drafting and operating one PPL II pairing during the season. Each PPL II pairing will be fully integrated into the parent team clubs’ competitions, practices, and local events.
The developmental league was created to establish a credible, well-defined pathway for North American players to reach the top of the professional ranks. PPL II provides drafted players with team contracts, league-run competition, and full franchise integration – creating a structured professional environment focused on development and competition.
Additional details on the new PPL II include:
Competition and Events
PPL II players will compete across four regular season events during the 2026 season. The first competition will take place in Miami from March 15–18. Following the Miami debut, teams will compete alongside PPL athletes at three PPL regular season events in New York (July 9–12), Los Angeles (August 13–16), and Playa del Carmen (September 24–27).
PPL II Competing at The City’s Cup
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top two men’s pairings and the top two women’s pairings will qualify as Wildcard Entrants in The City’s Cup, where they will compete in Play-In matches against the PPL’s 7th and 8th seeded teams. Winners of the Play-In Matches will move on to compete in the quarterfinals of The City’s Cup.
Draft Process and Player Selection
Players interested in participating must submit an official draft application during the registration window, which opens today and closes on February 18. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection or participation.
Eligible applicants will be entered into the PPL II’s inaugural draft, scheduled for February 26. The draft will consist of two rounds, with each PPL Club selecting two players within the same division to form its PPL II pairing.
Player Compensation and Benefits
The inaugural PPL II season will feature more than $350,000 in guaranteed compensation and prize money. In addition, all PPL-related travel expenses, including flights, accommodations, ground transportation, and meals will be covered by the league and teams.
