New York, USA — The Pro Padel League’s The City’s Cup: The Finals officially kicked off its first day of competition at the Hammerstein Ballroom, bringing together some of the world’s most elite padel players for an unforgettable showcase in the heart of Manhattan.

The opening day featured thrilling matches across both the women’s and men’s divisions, with packed stands and a sold-out crowd celebrating the start of this high-energy event.

In the women’s division, the Flowrida Goats dominated the court with a convincing win over the Miami Padel Club. The powerful duo of Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea showed their class early on, defeating Virginia Riera and Sandra Bellver in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, to give their team the first victory of the competition.

 

 

The action continued as the Stingrays overcame the Cancun Waves in a thrilling three-set battle. Veronica Virseda and Claudia Jensen delivered a strong performance, taking the match 6-2, 2-6, 10-2 against Sofia Saiz and Marta Borrero.

 

Two unmissable men’s matches followed, closing out the opening day in front of a sold-out New York crowd. The Argentine duo of Agustín Tapia and Federico Chingotto, representing Miami Padel Club, faced Alex Arroyo and Iñigo Jofre from Arkansas Matrix. The Argentines displayed their trademark precision and power, claiming victory in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

The final match of the night featured Lucas Bergamini and Jairo Bautista of the Stingrays, who sealed the day’s competition with a solid win over Jose Aliaga and Alberto García Trabanco from the Houston Volts, capping off an electrifying first day of world-class padel action.
