After an opening day packed with emotion, Day 2 kept the momentum high with thrilling women’s and men’s matchups that showcased the league’s international talent and intensity.

 

 

 

The day began with the Houston Volts duo Marta Caparros and Marta Barrera facing Andrea Ustero and Adriana Sánchez from the New York Atlantis. The home team delighted local fans, as Ustero and Sánchez delivered a confident performance to take the win 6-3, 6-2.

 

 

Next up, Patricia Llaguno and Araceli Martínez of Arkansas Matrix met Marta Ortega and Sofía Araujo from Las Vegas Smash in another high-level encounter. The experienced pair of Ortega and Araujo — known for their chemistry and consistency — secured the victory in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, closing out the women’s division for the day.

 

 

The focus then shifted to the men’s matches, opening with Juan Rubini and Leandro Augsburger of the Flowrida Goats, who faced the powerful Cancún Waves duo Maxi Arce and Franco Dal Bianco. Rubini and Augsburger displayed impressive teamwork and attacking precision, dominating key moments of the match to claim a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory — sealing the Goats’ spot among the weekend’s top contenders.

 

To close Friday’s action, the crowd witnessed an electrifying battle between Jon Sanz and Lucas Campagnolo representing New York Atlantis, against Gonzalo Alfonso and Francisco Manuel Gil from Las Vegas Smash. In a thrilling first set that went to a tiebreak, Sanz and Campagnolo maintained composure to take it 7-6, and carried that momentum into the second, closing out the match 6-1 — an emphatic finish that sent the New York fans into celebration mode inside the Hammerstein Ballroom.
