San Sebastián, July 10, 2025 – Fede Chingotto and Agustín Tapia: the pairing everyone was eager to see. From rivals to teammates, united in their goal to take their team to the top. Thursday’s Pro Padel League matchday made this union possible, and it couldn’t have started better. They secured an important victory for the Miami Padel Club in the Pro Padel League, convincingly defeating Álex Arroyo and Gonzalo Rubio of the Arkansas Matrix, 6-2, 7-5. The match was played this Thursday in San Sebastián as part of the regular season of the professional team circuit.
From the opening games, Chingotto and Tapia displayed a compact, aggressive, and perfectly synchronized game. The first set quickly went the way of the Miami team, which scored several consecutive breaks to close out the set 6-2. In the second, Arkansas responded and put up a fight, even serving for the chance to level the match. But the Argentinians kept their composure in the decisive moments to seal the victory in straight sets.
A clear demonstration of the talent and potential both players possess. This win allows Miami Padel Club to remain near the top of the overall standings, further strengthening their bid for the title this Pro Padel League season.
Regarding Fede and Agustín, both expressed how pleased they were to be competing on the same side of the court this week. “Happy to be here again in the PPL with Agustín. We really enjoyed the match because the guys made it very tough for us, so we’re pleased with this win in our debut,” said Chingotto after the match.
For “Mozart,” he highlighted the many Argentinian flags in the stands and promised to give his all throughout the tournament: “It’s such a joy to have so much support so far from home, so we’re very happy and we’ll be back giving it our all on Saturday.”
Arkansas Matrix Won the Women’s Match
In the women’s match, Jessica Castelló and Virginia Riera (Miami Padel Club) fell to Bea Caldera and Patty Llaguno (Arkansas Matrix) 6-1, 7-6. The first set was marked by clear dominance from the Arkansas pair, while the second was much more competitive, going to a tiebreak. However, Caldera and Llaguno capitalized on their greater effectiveness to close out the match.
